1950年代に誕生したTYPE 2 DENIM JACKETをモチーフに、当時のデザインや縫製仕様、独特の素材感を再現したモデルです。

TYPE 2は、それまでのTYPE 1 DENIM JACKETから進化したモデルで、フロントにはTYPE 1の名残であるプリーツを残しながら、胸ポケットが1つから2つに変更されました。また、背面のシンチバックが廃止され、裾の両サイドにアジャスターが設けられるなど、デザインやシルエットにも大きな変化が見られます。

1950年代は、それまで主に作業着として使用されていたデニムジャケットが、ウエスタンウェアやカジュアルファッションとしても広く受け入れられるようになった時代です。1950年代から1960年代にかけて活躍した俳優やミュージシャンたちにも愛用され、デニムジャケットがファッションアイテムとして定着していく象徴的なモデルとなりました。

素材には、1950年代のヴィンテージデニムを研究し、糸の段階から吟味して開発したorSlowオリジナルのセルビッジデニムを使用しています。

当時のデニムに見られる自然なムラ感や独特の風合いを再現するため、糸の太さや不規則なムラの出方、織り組織に至るまでこだわって作られた生地です。現代の均一なデニムとは異なり、自然な凹凸と奥行きのある豊かな表情を持っています。

着用と洗濯を繰り返すことで、生地が徐々に柔らかくなり、1950年代のヴィンテージデニムを思わせる自然な色落ちやアタリが現れます。 長く着込むほどに独特の風合いが増し、着る人それぞれの表情へと育っていく、経年変化を楽しめる素材です。

カラーは、デニムワンウォッシュ（C/#81）とデニムユーズドウォッシュ（C/#84）の2色を展開しています。

Inspired by the Type 2 denim jacket introduced in the 1950s, this model faithfully recreates the distinctive design, construction details, and fabric character of vintage denim jackets from that era.

The Type 2 evolved from the earlier Type 1 denim jacket, retaining its characteristic front pleats while introducing two chest pockets instead of one. The original back cinch strap was eliminated and replaced with adjustable tabs at the sides of the waistband, reflecting significant changes in both design and silhouette.

During the 1950s, denim jackets began evolving beyond their original role as practical workwear, becoming increasingly associated with Western wear and casual fashion. Worn by actors and musicians throughout the 1950s and 1960s, the Type 2 became an iconic piece that helped establish the denim jacket as a timeless fashion staple.

The fabric is orSlow's original selvedge denim, carefully developed from the yarn stage through an in-depth study of authentic vintage denim from the 1950s.

Special attention was given to recreating the natural irregularities and distinctive texture of denim from that period. From yarn thickness and subtle slub variations to weave construction, every detail was carefully considered to produce a fabric with a naturally uneven surface and rich vintage character.

Unlike the more uniform appearance of modern denim, this original fabric captures the depth and distinctive texture found in vintage denim from the 1950s.

With repeated wear and washing, the denim gradually softens and develops natural fading and distinctive wear patterns reminiscent of authentic 1950s vintage denim. Over time, the jacket becomes more comfortable and develops its own unique character, reflecting the way it is worn and lived in.
